Thursday 9th August 2012- The Sapphires

Following wonderful success of the Katrina’s Sparkle film night at the Nova last year we are delighted to bring you the opportunity to come and join us for the National opening night of “The Sapphires” starring Jessica Mauboy (Australian Idol), Deborah Mailman (Secret Life of Us, Rabbit-Proof Fence, Play School) and Chris O’Dowd (I.T. Crowd)

This highly acclaimed Australian movie is set in the heady days of the late ’60s when four young, talented singers from a remote Aboriginal mission, are discovered by an unlikely talent scout. Plucked from obscurity and branded as Australia’s answer to The Supremes, The Sapphires grasp the chance of a lifetime when they’re offered their first real gig – entertaining the troops in Vietnam. For the girls, a whole new world of friendship, love, war and soul opens before them.

Tickets are $30 each with nibbles provided and we again anticipate a sell out and do not expect any tickets to be available on the night.  This includes finger food from 6:30pm, and drinks at bar prices, giving you plenty of time to catchup and mingle before the show.

There is free 2 Hour parking available to Nova patrons in the Lygon Court / Safeway Carpark – entry on Drummond St. {MAP}

Simply present your parking ticket to the box office for them to validate your parking.

Bookings can be made by going to

We look forward to seeing you at the Nova at 6.30pm on Thursday 9th August
